We have an Eviction Date!

We have an eviction date!

Yesterday I had the first of my weekly apps. I had my strep B test and my first internal check (fun, fun). I'm not dilated at all and Lexi is still breach. *le sigh* It doesn't look like she's going to flip on her own, so my doctor scheduled me for a c-section. We go in bright and early on Friday, June 29. Yikes!! I'm going to have a baby by the end of the month! Holy cow!

My last day of work will be the 27. KJ and I (mostly me) have to go in the hospital on the 28 for a "c-section meeting". I guess we get to meet the anesthesiologist and talk about what all is going to happen. I guess from reading online I get the general gist of what will happen, so I feel pretty prepared already without the meeting.

I'm not really looking forward to the recovery. I was really hoping to get back to running ASAP, but it looks like I will have to wait until 6w pp. I'm bummed, but I'll do whatever I have to do to get Lexi here safely. It's already been 10 months, what's another 6 weeks. At least I can start dieting right away! I don't want to keep this weight on any longer then I have to. I was pretty over weight in college, and I lost 35lbs the year I graduated and got married. I refuse to go through life uncomfortable, unhappy, and just plain fat. I'm going to get my body back.

Prepping for Alexis

I just love using her name! KJ and I (well, mostly me!) have been in full nesting mode lately. I have this need to get everything done *now*.

My mom had a second mini shower for me on Saturday to help fill in the necessities. It was very helpful! We got quite a few useful things: bath tub, hand breast pump, bottles, socks, spoons, and a carrier, just to name a few. My Grandma also gave us money to buy the stroller with! I'm so excited!

As I mentioned before, the past few weekends I've been yard saleing baby clothes like crazy. I *think* I have a a pretty good stash built up now. I know I need more 12m sleepers and probably more stretchy pants (to accommodate a fluffy but), but other then that, I think I'm good. I also found a second pack n play at a yard sale that we'll use for at MIL house. It's in great condition and was a steal at $25!

KJ and I went shopping on Sunday to fill in the rest of what we need and to use my registry completion coupons. I think we did pretty well. I also made orders on Amazon, Target, and BRU. We needed a second base for the car seat and it was only available online at Target. The breast pump I wanted was out of stock at the BRU store and it was $30 less online. The only thing we didn't get were baby gates, but I have a 20% off coupon that's good for next week, so we'll get those then. Everything else is being shipped! I love getting packages in the mail!

Happy June!

So, since I'm due the first week in July, there's a definite possibility that I might have a baby by the end of the month! Yikes! Where has the time gone?? I still have so much to do!

I've been making lists of all the things I feel I need to get done in the next few weeks so I can feel mostly ready. Somethings are important and others ready aren't, but they're all on the list anyhow. When I get stressed I make lists and it helps me feel like I'm making progress.

Stuff to get done:

Pack hospital bag (this is my plan for tonight)
Find a take home outfit
Wash bathroom valance (it's dusty and I stare at it every time I go in there!)
Clean kitchen ceiling (also dusty)
Weed driveway
Send Amanda's b-day card out (her b-day is tomorrow, oops)
Organize guest room (it's become our catch all for baby things we won't need right a way)
Wash diapers (I have to prep some hemp inserts I bought)
Wash rugs
Find a glider rocker
Clean off dresser (my bedroom dresser is a mess)
Set up pack n play in the bedroom (this will require some rearranging)
Make an Amazon order (still waiting on my registry completion coupon for this. Should get it next week)

Then there's the list of necessities that we still need to get. My mom is having a second shower for me on the 9th. In theory, it's supposed to help with these things, but as we saw with the first shower (50 pink onesies, what?!) I'm not holding my breath.

Things I still need:

Extra car seat base (we bought the car seat last weekend because I had a freak out over the fact that we didn't have it yet)
Changing pad and cover
Waterproof mattress cover (have one, but would like a back up)
Bottles (don't have any!)
Baby gates
Sheets for pack n play
Pacifiers
Swaddler (have one, but would like a back up)
Breast pump
Breast milk storage items
Bath tub
Sippy cups
Thermometer
"baby proofing" stuff

I've been yard saleing pretty much every Saturday since the shower on the look out for clothes and gear for MIL's house. My ultimate goal is to yard sale all the clothes we'll need for LG's first year. I know there will be things we'll need here and there, but if I can get the bulk bought now, that would be awesome. I've found a good amount, but there's always something left.

Clothes what I need:

0-3
Kimono shirts

3-6
2 sleepers
4 one piece outfits

6-9
3 one peice outfits

12mo
4 sleepers

2 Years

Two years ago today my life was forever changed. Two years ago I lost my first baby and became a mom to an angel. I was only pg for a week, but I loved my baby so much and still do.

Today I remember you, LO. You will always be my first baby. I miss you and love you.

April Showers!

I had my baby shower on April 30 and it went wonderfully! My mom, MIL, and SMIL threw it for me. When they first suggested having one big joint shower I was a little nervous because MIL and SMIL don't generally get along. Everything, from the planning to the actual party, went very smoothly, though.  *big sigh of relief!*

The shower was beautiful! It was a flower garden theme, just like the nursery. My almost-SIL (BIL's GF, not official FI yet) made some awesomely beautiful cupcakes. It turned out to be a really nice time.

I had been registry stalking for weeks before hand and was a little nervous that not a lot if things had been bought. We did get quite a few items, though. Mostly clothes with a few useful things here and there. Some big things we got were the pack n play, high chair, swing, stroller accessories, and play gym. Of coarse, having a girl, means EVERYONE wanted to get her a cute little outfit. So, we got about 50 pink onesies, half in 0-3 months and the rest anywhere from 3-12 months. I'm grateful for the clothes, but come on, one little girl can only wear so many things at once. I would have appreciated more useful things over clothes. So, needless to say, I have some returning and exchanging to do...

It was a long day and I was exhausted after words. KJ and I had some friends spending the weekend with us so they could come to the shower. After we got all the gifts home, they wanted to help put everything away. I know they were just trying to be helpful, but I just wanted to take a nap at that point! But, alas, no nap was had. I had to sort through everything right away and decide what we were going to keep and return, and then were to put it all. After about 3 hours everything was put away. What would be a good word for more than exhausted? It was probably the most tired and worn out I've ever been. My bump was burning and my feet were aching. I had to call it quits, and went to bed. I slept for about 4 hours, woke up at about 2am, and couldn't get back to sleep. *sigh* It was a rough weekend! I spent all of Sunday recuperating.

I've very grateful for such a wonderful shower and all of the generous gifts we received for our little girl. Here are some pics!

Flower Power

Once again I've been busy in the nursery! The fabric flowers are finally all sewn and on the walls. It was quite a project, but I'm in love with how they turned out. Our little garden is really coming along.

KJ put up some more shelves a few weeks ago.

I also made some art! I had this idea to wright out the lyrics to one of my favorite songs in the shape of a flower. I'm really happy with how it turned out. (Bonus points if you know which song it is! "Plant a seed. Plant a flower. Plant a rose...")

I also made a monogram of an A out of fun colored buttons (a Pinterest idea).

In other news, my baby shower is this Saturday and I'm really looking forward to it! I've been registry stalking (I'm horrible, I know) and so far we'll be getting some pretty nice things. There's still lots to buy, though. I hope we'll get some last minuet shoppers on Saturday morning. Don't get me wrong, I'll be grateful for anything that we get, it would just be nice to at least get the necessities taken care of. And come on, who doesn't love getting presents!

KJ got a new job! I'm so proud of him!! He's been over worked, and quite frankly under paid, for a while now at his current job. He finally got fed up enough to start looking a few weeks ago, and this new job just fell into his lap. He went for an interview and the company immediately loved him and offered him the job that day. It's exactly what he's been wanting to do and will be a great step ahead in his career. The only down side is that it's going to be a much longer commute for him. He'll be traveling an hour and 15mins one way, as opposed to the just 15min commute he has now. As long as everything goes well, a move will definitely be in our future in the next two years. The fact that his pay check has almost doubled, though... That kind of makes up for it! Maybe being a SAHM is in my future yet!!

Here's my 7 month bump pic taken on April 15. April showers and all that. She sure is growing in there!

My Obsession

I'd would like to share with you my new obsession... Cloth diapers! I have been going crazy over cloth diapers in a last month or so. I'm constantly either lurking on the CD'ing board on The Bump or scouring eBay for my next purchase. I'm completely addicted! I've even had dreams about the CD's I want to buy... It's bordering on obsessive! They're just so darn cute and I keep finding awesome deals that I just can't pass up. I admit it... I have a problem. I'm thinking of joining a 12 step program (just kidding!).

Here's my lovely stash so far: (pictures are just a sampling)

First we have the newborn stash. I have 15 Green Mountain Diaper NB Workhorses, 12 GMD NB prefolds, 12 GMD small prefolds, 5 Cotten doublers, 2 XS Thirsties wraps, and 8 small wraps (Thirsties, Bummis, and other random brands). I found a good tutorial on how to turn a prefold into a fitted (like the workhorses), so that's my plan with the 24 GMD prefolds.

Next, we have the size one stash: 7 Thirsties Fab Fitteds, 8 Thirsties Duo Diapers, 5 Thirsties Duo wraps, and one Thirsties medium wrap.

And last, we have the one size stash: 5 BumGenius 4.0s, 3 BG Flip covers with 12 inserts, 2 Kawii's, and 2 random eBay OS.

After I convert my prefolds to fitteds, my NB stash should be complete. I need to get some more fitteds for my size one stash, a few more OS diapers, some snappies, and wet bags. Fun fun!!

Lots of love,
KJsbabe

PS Here are some bump pics!

This one is our 6 month pic taken on March 18 (24w and V-Day!!)

These two are from 26w on April 1. The trees in our front yard were blooming and I couldn't resist a bump pic with them!
